Following the passing of Namibia’s founding president, Dr Sam Nujoma, a wave of tribute songs has emerged, honouring his remarkable life and legacy. Yesterday, despite the rain pouring down, nothing could hold back the excitement at the Independence Arena in Windhoek, where a grand celebration took place to commemorate the Father of the Namibian Nation.  

Preparations for the event were in full swing,  as Namibian artists, dancers, and poets gathered to pay tribute to a leader who played an instrumental role in shaping Namibia’s history. The atmosphere was electric, filled with anticipation as the audience arrived to witness this unforgettable occasion. 

Among the performers were renowned artists such as Top Cheri, Tate Buti,Gaza, Get Rich, Equipped Performance Arts & Corporate Affairs Academy, Devymore, Atushe, just to mention a few. Poets such as Gerson Sheefeni, each delivering vibrant performances that resonated with the spirit of celebration and remembrance. Their heartfelt tributes showcased the deep appreciation and respect that the nation holds for Dr. Nujoma.

As the performances commenced, the arena came alive with talent and passion. This tribute was not just a showcase of artistic ability; it was a collective celebration of Dr. Nujoma’s enduring impact on the nation.
